Scuba diving in Brazil seems exotically fun - one day when I get down there!
Barcelona is a beautiful city. La Sagrada Familia is just breathtaking. Did you feel like 4 days is enough in Barcelona? That's about how long we stayed. Our tour guide said Barcelona is the "enchantress". He came for a week and stayed for years.
Agree with you on the graffiti tour - we did that in Medellin and loved it! Same with the cable cars - that was cool too. Love your pics! We stayed in Airbnb's when there - are the hotels expensive generally?
How highly do you recommend Plitvice Lakes National Park? My wife and I were in Croatia, but didn't get to go because we thought it would be too far of a trip. Thinking we should go back and see it? Thanks for the hiking tips generally, will do more of that when we come back to Croatia.
Do you have the link for the cooking class from Airbnb? Want to save for when we are in Portugal as that is a spot my wife and I have not yet been. And this would be great to do especially since you highly recommend! Thanks!
I was in LA for a very short period of time (about 1 day), and definitely did not get to do many of these things - like you said, it's very spread out - so will have to come back and try the bars and concert venues you mentioned. We did more walking tours when we were there.
Love that you say you think about this trip every single day!! I enjoy driving myself, and there are few things I love more than our National Parks - been to about 10 out of 62. I'd really love to spend about a month or two driving around leisurely to all of the National Parks in the west.
As someone who also works in tech - with the world maybe going remote, Hawaii would be one place I think I would thrive. I am very much a very early morning person and so starting my day at 4a would suit me just fine so long as I could finish up at 12 or 1p and enjoy nature, beaches, and hikes. Ah the dream!!
@jillmcarthur warm place in my heart for this itinerary, because well I happen to live in Washington Heights, right next to Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters. Love this slightly off the beaten path way to experience NY!!
@Kusuma, seems like a cool trip and nice pics!!
Kusuma, loved this itinerary. Great food options, I agree!
Easton, love this itinerary!! Thanks for posting.
Can't go wrong with a combo like nature and beer!
YES, fish tacos! But seriously this sounds like a great way to spend a week in Hawaii. Pics and recos are making me want to go, like now.
Great insights! Never knew Japan was big into casinos, not something I would have thought. Would love to go to Japan some day and chow down, though I'm not necessarily a fan of rice haha.
Beautiful pics and helpful to see the road route you took! Definitely high on my list to visit Alaska.
Really want to go here cause it looks beautiful, and because I'm a fan of Teddy R. Who wouldn't be?
Impressive that you did all of this without a car!! We did Iceland for a few days as a stopover to Europe because I don't like long flights, and loved it too! Who knew about Chuck Norris Grill though lol. Classic. :)
Agree with you on the cenotes, pretty cool! Amazing to think about the history in Chichen Itza too. Thanks for your dining and lodging recos, may have to check out if and when we go.
My wife and I were choosing between the Amalfi coast and Cinque Terre when we went. We decided on Amalfi and thought to come back to Cinque Terre another time. Have you been to both? Which did you prefer if you have? I assume it's hard to go wrong. Either way, we'll have to use your itinerary when we go!
Two of my favorite countries, thanks for this awesome itinerary for when we go back! Still need to hit Venice. :)
We had a rushed trip through Vancouver (about 1.5 days) and clearly missed out on a lot that you listed here. Loved Granville Island but will have to come back to do the rest. We did a less popular suspension bridge (the name I can't recall) but Capilano sounds worth it. Also the hike and revolving restaurant (sorry about your experience!) will have to be added to our list.
When in Rome, my wife and I did 33,000 steps, so what's 25k? But seriously this is a great breakdown of what to do in Florence.
Been to Italy and Croatia (loved both) and hopefully planning for Greece soon - after COVID. This sounds like an awesome trip, thanks for the helpful tips throughout.
Love the story behind the colorful homes. How come only fishermen forget which their home is after a day of work? :)
Definitely feels like you accomplished a great deal in 4 days in Paris. But I generally agree that's a good amount of time to spend in this beautiful city.
Agreed @Erik. A lot accomplished in a short time. I was equally fascinated by the Long Room. Probably the thing I remember most about Dublin. Love the cute little staircases they use to get to the tippy top.
My wife and I have been on and off planning to visit the White Mountains since this summer/fal as a local(ish) Covid trip. Most recently wanted to for fall foliage/leaf peeping, but just didn't quite get around to it yet. But hope to soon - thanks for posting this awesome itinerary!
Seems like a pretty magical place to be! The beach pictures (yours and others that I have seen) look stunning. :)
Train art looks cool!
Same here Easton, wife has been but I still need to go!! Some great recos all around and love the Cusco pics in particular. :)
Erik - love these pics, hope you enjoyed the wedding!!
Loved reading about this trip and your pics are mostly making me hungry and jealous! :)
Very interesting that you did the research on price only after you got to Bermuda! I sometimes get in trouble with my wife for doing things like that....
Love Cafe Du Monde, have dreams about that place. Dreams like waking up at 2a to go and get some beignets without waiting on a line. Of course, all pre-covid. One day..
Love walking around old towns in general. The pics look really lovely!
Love the design on that building!
Castle looks very interesting in the pics, thanks for sharing those!
Amazing nature shots!!
This is a FANTASTIC itinerary for the cities you visited in northern Poland & Warsaw. Really feels like so much to do and explore culturally! Just reading this gave me the travel itch that needs to be scratched soon amidst Covid..
@Erik you'll have to tell me the spot where you camped!
Loved this trip @Erik. Want to take a great American cross country trip one day as well. :)
This sounds like an awesome trip, definitely one I can see myself on with some friends. Thanks for posting!
Have you been to both Shenandoah and Smoky Mountain National Parks? Which do you prefer? I'd love to spend some time in both and drive down Blue Ridge Parkway in between. Glad you got to do it and see the fall colors! Seems like this is the perfect spot for foliage right?
