Day 8 - It was time to head towards Tokamachi to stay a night at Hikari Noyokata or the House of Light. We took the Shin back towards the outskirts of Tokyo and then back out towards the north where we switched to a local train to get to Tokamachi. Stopped by the grocery store that was nearby the Tokamachi station to grab some snacks and sake then grabbed a taxi to take us up to the house. On arrival there was another couple that had just gotten there and we were all given the tour and explained how to control the James Turrell Skyspace roof. Then the house manager left and we were left in a James Turrell house on our own with these other 2 people for the night. Shortly after we got to open up the roof and watch the light show with the sunset, it was magical. Dinner was delivered and we ate under the Skyspace. Then after dinner we went and enjoyed the hot spring water onsen on the lower floor overlooking the forest before we passed out for an early morning wake up for the dawn light show in the Skyspace.
Day 9 - Woke up really early for the dawn light show but it wasn't as great because it started to rain and we had to close the roof early. Shortly after that we got our stuff together and then shared a Taxi back down to the Tokamachi station to start our long train Journey to Sendai.
