stayed at: Universal Bay Condominium
Only non-hotel stay. A small Apartment with all necessary appliances for short stays. Was clean and decoration style was warm and welcoming. We had to walk a little fro the train station but that wasn't so bad.
Restaurants
Kani Doraku Dtombori Honten - Famous crab restaurant. We just tried a small to-go portion. Was good but overpriced according to my travel companions (personally never at crab before so i did not know)
Ippudo Umeda - Very good Ramen chain restaurant.
Fukutataro Honten- Great Okonomiyaki restaurant. You have to enter your name on a waiting list and wait outside. You get called when your table is ready. We all sat at the bar where our food was presented on the heated metal "stovetab" that stretched across the whole bar. There our okonomiyaki stayed warm and we could put parts of it on our tables. Cool restaurant, amazing food!
Sights
Dotonbori - Famous tourist-hotspot, with recognizable neon signs all around. There are many places to eat and shop around this area.
Hozenji Temple - Near Dotonbori. Small temple with a buddha statue completely covered in moss.
Hep Five - Huge Mall with it's own ferris wheel. You can even plug in your own music to listen to during the ride.
America Mura - District/Area with western influences and US Imports. This is the area to express yourself visually (which is very out-of-place for most of japan). There was a guy in a park sitting with his pet falcon and snakes.
Denden Town - Like Akihabara in Tokyo but with more general and electronic stores. We went there late so many shops were already closed.
Shinsekai - History shopping area with many neon signs and the famous pufferfish (may not be there anymore since september 2020) and neon tower
