Next we went to Arles and trace the history of the town home to Vincent Van Gogh. This is the day where we didn't have our timing down. We were actually in Albi over one of their celebrated weekends and we could've seen bulls run through the streets, however we seemed to miss it by getting a bit lost. Then we tried to go to the bull fight but also missed that.
We then journeyed inland to the fortified town of Carcassonne. Travellers are often amazed at their first sight of this medieval gem, known for its fortress - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a complete set of ramparts and a medieval keep. Travel on to Albi, the birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec.
We stayed at the Hôtel Saint Antoine, Albi.
The next day we had to ourselves. Therefore we just had a nice day of exploring.
