We actually landed in London and took the Eurostar to Paris.
Days 1 - 2: We used to go to #disneyparis We stayed on site since it's easier to get to the parks.
Day 3: We stayed at Relais Hotel du Vieux and it was a perfect spot close to everything we wanted to walk to. We explored the #notredame and then did a river tour to see the #eiffeltower from the river. This was a beautiful view of the tower and we highly recommend. We walked by the #louvre but we didn't have the time to actually go in so we went underground to see the pyramid point. La Maison du Chocolate is definitely worthing shopping at! Then we went to #saintechapelle and the #palaisdejustice to see where Marie Antoinette was beheaded.
We had dinner at this small place called Le Lutin dans le Jardin. This place had amazing food and it was super delicious. My husband always thinks back of this place from our entire trip.
Day 4: We went to #versailles We had booked a breakfast at the palace. DO THIS! The one regret we had though was that we walked the entire way to Marie Antoinnettes cottage only to find out that it was closed. When we walked back, that's when golf carts became available. Do yourself a favor - just get a golf cart. It's not worth walking. Seriously.
Day 5: This day we changed hotels as we used the Insight Vacations tour for the majority of the trip. However, you can still mimic this itinerary with no problems! We stayed at the Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel and got to drive by the #arcdetriomphe and did a little night tour to see Paris light up at night!
@silverfox40 - Agree - I feel like you don't get to truly experience the culture if you try to squish a bunch of countries all into a few weeks though you'll definitely hit some big items off your list!
I spent 2 weeks in France and 2 weeks is clearly not too long in France, 2 weeks are clearly not too long for most European countries. It's actually a huge mistake to rush it down and try to visit as many countries as possible within a couple of weeks. This seems more achievable, I'll dedicate more time in future. Great trip details
@stephwood - Thanks so much! We truly had a trip of a lifetime and hit everything we wanted to do! We were considering renting a car but some of the toll prices were just as much as to fill up your car (our tour guide was saying 100 E at the time). We would recommend to make sure to take that into consideration for your budget!
Such an amazing itinerary, I'd love to hire a car and spend the month exploring the country. Seems like great timescales to explore these areas well. Such variety too which makes for a great trip!
What a shame about your altitude sickness!!!!!
Sounds like a fairytale of a trip! The truffle hunting sounds super cool too!!!
