I made it to La Fortuna via bus without any real issue. The town is adorable. Very innocent place sitting at the foothills of Costa Rica's most famous volcano, Arenal. I stayed at a local cabina that was right near the town square.
There was a small tour operator called FlowTrips that I found to be pretty cool. They gave me a deal on a combo tour where I got to whitewater raft and do a bike tour on the side of the volcano all in the same day. It was epic.
I saw a ton of wildlife in the area as well. Lots and lots of toucans in the lake arenal area!
There's a pretty healthy nightlife scene here too. I played pool and drank beer with some locals.
I learnt Pickleball there. It was fun. Also Salsa classes at Bouteille de leche
I'd love to learn Spanish properly, I know enough to get by and can roughly understand it but am not the greatest conversationalist so this sounds great. I find the South and Central American accents so much easier to understand that European Spanish. It sounds like a great experience!
