I started my Costa Rican journey by brushing up on my Spanish skills. After a long search online for the perfect school, I wound up selecting one in Heredia called Tico Lingo Spanish School. The school placed me with a local homestay family which was actually super awesome. They were some of the nicest people I met on my trip and cooked for me every day. It allowed me to really brush up on my Spanish and get comfortable with the Costa Rica accent. Everyone at the school was super cool as well. The teachers and staff were all incredibly helpful and I definitely recommend checking out Tico Lingo if you have a week or two before you go travel. It was affordable and was a great way to kick off my trip.
I learnt Pickleball there. It was fun. Also Salsa classes at Bouteille de leche
I'd love to learn Spanish properly, I know enough to get by and can roughly understand it but am not the greatest conversationalist so this sounds great. I find the South and Central American accents so much easier to understand that European Spanish. It sounds like a great experience!
