Kyoto (京都) |
Arrived at 06:00 in the morning, left our luggage in the hotel and went to look for coffee in the station. Then we went to Kyoto bamboo forest, we were the first tourists there, it was great – no views obstructed we can see it all. Then we went to Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama, THIS was the best experience in the whole of Kyoto. If you want to see a lot of monkeys really up close and also want to feed them, then go there. Just follow the rules, don’t be rude. All day was spent in this area. |

Fushimi Inari Taisha, we went late in the evening, it was creepy but we liked it. There were wild boars on the loose, also the local guard was trying to scare them away with a gun. |

We wanted to take the Sagano romantic train, but it was fully booked, if you get the chance, we think its worth it.
Instead we visited Nara deer park. It was great, there are deers who come to you, then they bow and ask for food. You can buy crackers and feed them all day long, there are literally hundreds of deers all across the city. Some are even walking in traffic. |
Day trip to Nara. |

The hotel we stayed at was THE best hotel I've every stayed in my entire life. It was perfect. The beds were enormous, we could sleep in any direction we wanted and it wouldn't bother the other person, and it was so comfortable, I haven't slept so well in a long long time. Breakfast was overwhelmingly good - there was such a huge variety that we didn't have enough time in 7 DAYS to try them all! There was even a huge icecream machine and 10 different fresh juices. It was really awesome. And that's not it, the hotel had on the inside a hot spring where you could go relax in the hot water and also a sauna. If I am ever coming back to Kyoto, this is the place I will always stay at.
I really miss the automatic toilets they had in Japan, it's like science fiction and they are living it.
