Day 10:
Early in the morning I arrived in Vienna and I bought a 72-hour pass for the city's public transportations on the internet.I booked 4 nights at the hostel for $13 a night and then I took the bus to the Old Town.
In the Old Town I had coffee and a snack and then I headed over to St Stephen's Cathedral to climb the South Tower. The Cathedral is breathtaking and the view from the top as well. The fee to climb was about $3(I was 18 at the time so I got the kids' prices in Vienna).I ate a cheap pizza for lunch and then I visited the Mozarthaus.
In the evening I had a few beers at a rooftop bar, with a beautiful view of Vienna at night.
Day 11:
I woke up and got back to the Old Town to see the Michaelerplatz, bordered by St Michael Church on one side and by the Hofburg Palace that hosts the Imperial Treasury on the other. Then I went to eat at a schnitzel at a Beisl,a traditional tavern, you can find them all over Vienna.
At noon I checked out the Austrian National Library. It's a very majestic place with marble floors, statues and big wooden globes and bookshelves. Then I headed over to the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien,an art museum.I'm not that big on art myself but the interior of the building totally made it worth a visit.
My destination for the evening was Prater,an amusement park.I rode the famous ferris wheel with an incredible view over the city.Afterwards,I went to a bar to get a drink and called it a day.
Day 12:
In day 12 of the trip I went to the Military History Museum,a museum about the austrian military, warfare and wars, with exhibits ordered by time period, starting from the Thirty Years War in the 18th century up to World War II.
Then I headed over to the Belvedere Palace,a beautiful complex that often gets overlooked by Schonbrunn. It's a lovely place with paintings from artists like Van Gogh and Monet behind its facade.I spent the rest of the day walking around Stadtpark,a beautiful and tranquil place with statues scattered all around it.
Day 13:
For my final day in Vienna,I took a bus to see the famed Schonbrunn Palace. The home of the Habsburgs is a place full of beauty, history and culture. The exhibits are stunning and you can get an audio guide if you want more information.
After the palace,I headed over to gardens, that left me very impressed.I spent the whole day wandering aimlessly around the place and I think they're bigger than my hometown. There is also a zoo nearby,The Schonbrunn Zoo,but I didn't visit it.
