Activities:
Queenstown Gardens - Beautiful walk through the gardens includes a tire swing over the lake (not to swing into the lake, just to swing on), lakeside benches, and many types of flora and fauna.
Hike to Luge Queenstown - Hiking trails just west of Queenstown take you to where the gondola tops off.
Arrowtown - Short drive from Queenstown; cool artifacts and an art museum.
Milford Sound [previous trip] - All-day excursion to the “eighth natural wonder of the world”. Make sure the road is not flooded. The drive there is almost as beautiful as the sound itself.
Lodging:
Nomads (Queenstown) - Large hostel with helpful staff and large kitchen.
Adventure Queenstown Hostel (Queenstown, from previous trip) - Unique hostel with balcony. Almost the same caliber of The Marion. I would like to stay at their sister hostel, Adventure Q2, during my next visit.
Eateries:
Fergburger - Some say it’s overhyped...it’s not. Best burger I’ve ever had, and that’s coming from an American. I’ll go about twice per day when I’m in Queenstown, sometimes I’ll even order two burgers. Call ahead to avoid their lines, you may have to call three or four times to reach them but it’s worth it.
Fergbaker - Next door to Fergburger, they serve bread and meat pies.
Arrowtown Bakery & Cafe - Wide variety of meat pies.
Did I mention Fergburger?
