After Canggu I headed to Ubud by taxi, which was relatively cheap too and just an hour drive away.
In Ubud there was a lot of sightseeing to do, for this reason I booked a day tour with a driver who would take me around where I wanted to.
- Tegalalang Rice Fields: The famous rice fields of Bali.
- Gunung Kawi Temple: A temple from the 11th century
- Holy spring water of Pura Tirta Empul: A temple that is well known for their holy water, is it possible to get into the water and bath while preaching, aka the “purification ritual”.
- Waterfalls (forgot the name): there are like 3 waterfalls near Ubud that you can visit by car, they are enormous and attract lots of tourist. I believe the one I visited was the Tegenungan Waterfall.
Aside from a drive tour you can easily walk around Ubud’s town centre to do some sightseeing that are all within walking distance.
- Ubud Market
- Museum Puri Lukisan
- Antonio Blanco Gallery
- Campuhan Ridge Walk
For accommodation I stayed at the Pillow Inn hostel, I don’t recommend it because you were cramped with 14 others in a room and had to share 3 bathrooms with two dormitories, so a total of almost 30 people.
I would recommend looking into other hostels or even hotels. I sadly don’t have recommendations for this one.
For food I just looked up nearby restaurants when I was there. There are plenty of choices and reviews online.
