After landing at night in Denpasar Airport, I took a cab to my hostel in Canggu. Cabs are fairly cheap in Bali and can be ordered by using apps like Gojek and Grab.
Accommodation: Since I was travelling solo, I wanted to meet other travelers and therefore stayed at the Farm Hostel. The hostel was very nice, clean, able to have some privacy and also very friendly. There are other hostels ranging from party hostels to more private ones. Villas can also be rented for a low price if you are travelling in a group.
Activities:
Canggu felt a lot like a small beach town, made for surfing, chilling and going out. During the day I lounged at the pool in the hostel, went to visit the beaches (the beaches are not white or clear but not super dirty either) or at night I went out. The nightlife is great, recommended places are: Old Man’s, Sand Bar, Pretty Poison (on Thursdays) or you can also head to Finn’s beach club which is a little further away.
Food:
Lots of options in Canggu, from cafes to local warungs, from cheap to more high end, everything was delicious and there were lots of vegan options.
Some food recommendations:
- Crate Café
- Motion Café
- The Shady Shack
- Warung Dandelion
This is very interesting! I am jealous that you were able to spend a month in Indonesia :)
