After recovering for a few days in Gili Air I headed back to Bali by boat and went straight to Uluwatu. A beautiful town south of Bali with the most amazing beaches and cliffs. Though tourists are everywhere in Bali, Uluwatu managed to retain a more natural and beachy feeling compared to the packed west coast. It is also well-known for the surfing scene.
In Uluwatu you could get around with a scooter and go explore, some recommendations:
- Nyang Nyang Beach
- Padang Padang Beach
- Dreamland Beach
- Bingin Beach
- Uluwatu Temple: there are fire dancers/performers at night.
- The Rock Bar
- Single Fin’s Beachclub
- Omnia Beachclub
Uluwatu is absolutely stunning and well spread-out, so there is a lot of variety in terms of sightseeing and beaches.
After Uluwatu I still had a few days left and decided to head back to Canggu because I really liked to feel of the town, and it was close to the airport.
I stayed at the same hostel and did pretty much the same as when I first arrived. I spent my last days in Bali enjoying the sun and hanging out with fellow travelers.
After spending a month in Bali, I can totally understand the rave and hype around it, aside from the sun, sea and people. The whole vibe, feeling and attitude of Bali are magical and indescribable and in my opinion the reason why so many people love it.

This is very interesting! I am jealous that you were able to spend a month in Indonesia :)
