  • DAY 1
    • Arrived afternoon via airplane from Chicago
    • Park Hyatt New York Bar (for cocktails and view of the city)
      • Jazz, alcohol and the Tokyo skyline. Undoubtley, we were living out scenes of the movie 'Lost in Translation'. Such a memorable start to the trip.
    • Uogashi Nihon-Ichi Standing Sushi Bar (for sushi)
  • DAY 2
    • Meguro river park
    • AFURI Nakameguro (for yuzu shoyu ramen)
    • MORI Building Digital Art Museum - teamLab Borderless exhibit
      • If there was such a thing as a travel redo, I wouldn't go to this exhibit again. Very touristy and not worth the money or time in my opinion. Go for the 'gram if that's your perogative. You will wait in multiple lines for crowded rooms with low resolution projections on the wall, an infinity room, and various iterations of the same thing.

    • SAVOY (for pizza)
      • Disclaimer: I haven't tried all the pizza on the planet and I haven't been to Italy (yet). That said - the pizza at SAVOY is the BEST pizza you will eat on the planet Earth. It's won the pizza-shaped hole in my heart, at least.

    • Reissue Coffee shop for 3D lattes (for coffee)
    • Café & Pancake Gram (for fluffy pancakes)
    • Big Love for record shopping!
    • Meiji Jingu Shrine (Shinto Shrine) 
    • Yoyogi Park 
    • Shibuya
    • Gykatsu Motomura (for beef katsu)
    • SILKREAM (for ice cream)
    • Tower Records Shibuya for record shopping!
    • Shibuya Crossing
    • Karaoke Kan
  • DAY 4
    • Asakusa
    • Misojyu (for Japanese Breakfast - miso soup + onigiri)
    • Senso-ji Temple (Buddhist Temple) // Kaminari Gate // Homozon Gate
    • Asakusa Shrine (Buddist Temple)
    • Kibidango Azuma for kibidango (mochi dumpling)
    • Oimoyasan Koshin (for sweet potato desserts)
    • Tokyo National Museum
    • Ueno Onshi Park
    • Akihabara (Electric Town)
    • Joto (for Japanese curry)
      • This was a food TRIP HIGHLIGHT! A warm belly full of japanese curry on a rainy afternoon is like every comfort food you've ever eaten x 10.
  • DAY 5
    • Tsukiji Outer Market (for street food!)
    • Yanagiya Taiyaki (for sweet treat - fish shaped cake)
    • Imperial Palace East Garden
    • Chidorigafuchi Park
    • Yasubei of Ebisu (for gyoza)
  • DAY 6
    • Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
    • Fuunji (for tsukemen ramen)
    • Shimokitazawa
      • Wandered around, checked out the street art and popped into the stores. It's a cute, ultra hipstery area.
    • Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory (for sweet treat)
    • FUKU (for yakitori)
    • Shinjuku
    • Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho 
  • DAY 7
    • Lawson (for quick lunch, egg salad sandwich and other goodies!)
      • We impulse bought so many treats and did not regret a single purchase. Eat a tamago sando (egg salad sandwich) in honor of Anthony Bourdain. <3
    • Left via train for Osaka
