Car: We rented a car for a few days becuase obivoulsy you need one to get around and see all of these things. The rental car was the most expensive at around $400.00 for 3 days. But you need a car so there really is no choice.
Day 1: As soon as we landed in Montana we went straight to our Bed and Breakfast in the middle of the woods. Our host was amazing!! She made the best breakfast for us daily, gave us walking sticks, gave us bear spray for our hikes, we had camp fires at night and there was an out door hot tub! It was very easy to find and very cozy! There was 3 floors where we stayed with a total of 5 bedrooms so there were others staying with us which was very nice becuase we got to know other travelers. As soon as we got settled we made our way into Glacier National park and spent the entire day driving around and taking hikes. The entrance to the park from where we were staying was about 15 mins and it was very easy to get into. We went in May and the mountains still had snow all over them which was pretty to see and with lots of green still out. #hiking #bearspray
Dinner: There are so many small places in town to eat and you bascially go through town every time you leave. We ate at the Buffalo one night which was basic bar food but it was good. #buffalo #smalltown
Day 2: We got up early after a nice breakfast at our Bed and Breakfast and went into the park. Today we took a 5 mile hike round trip on the Trail of the Cedars Avalanche Lake. It was beautiful! It tooks us around 3 hours becuase we stopped to take a lot of pictures and there are so many waterfalls along the way that you can not help but to stop and take in all the beauty. Once we reached the lake we walked around and let me tell you the water is very cold! We packed a small lunch so we sat at the lake and ate it. You will want to bring water and snacks with you on the hike becuase it is long and it is a bit up hill in woods. Be sure to bring your bear spray. We did not see any but they are there. #hiking
Dinner: On our last night we went into town and got a pizza from North Fork Pizza. It came highly recommeded from the locals! We got a large pizza and a sub and went back to our Bed and Breakfast shared with friends hung out by the fire and went into the hot tub. The pizza was very good! #pizza #hottub
Glacier National Park: There is so much to see and do in the park and speding one day in it is just not enough. You really need 2 full days. As you drive along there are so many pull offs where you can so small hikes, see waterfalls, see different mountain views. There are places to bike on trails or just sit at a picnic area and eat and enjoy the outdoors. You need at least 2 fulls days. So give yourself enough time.
I've got one of those national park scratch lists and this is one of the many I have yet to do, might have to be a priority, sounds great
Such an underated national park, one of my favorites
