In my experience in planning my own trip to Hawaii, the cheapest (and fastest) airport to fly into was Honolulu International Airport. Hawaii is the only U.S. state that is not geographically connected to North America. It is part of the Polynesia subregion of Oceania. The six main islands, four of which we cover in detail on this site, are, from west to east, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
We flew to the Hawaiian Islands, and right after we reached the airport we rented a car from Budget car rental. From the airport, we directly went to Waikiki Beach, which is 11 miles away from the airport. Waikiki Beach, located on the south shore of Honolulu. It is one of the best and most popular beaches. High-rise hotels line the shore in Waikiki, a world-famous vibrant neighborhood known for its popular surf beach. Waikiki is famous for its beaches and every hotel room is just two or three blocks away from the ocean (if it’s not directly on the beach).
Kūhiō Beach: Family-friendly Waikiki beach park with shallow, lagoon-like water & statues honoring local legends.
After a hectic day of hiking, walking we had dinner at Michel's at the Colony Surf. This is an Elegant, classic French restaurant at Colony Surf offering fine dining with beach or city views. Highly recommended.
Tips:
1. You can go to Hawaii any time of the year
2. Enjoy tropical fruits and local delights
3. Visit with your friends and family and make memories
@stephwood, The six main islands west to east, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii, if anyone wants to explore minimum, still need 3 weeks. As Honolulu is closer to the airport, it has become most popular among others.
Hawaii is top of my bucket list, absolute dream destination for me! Would you recommend Honolulu above other Hawaiian destinations? I'm UK based so it would probably be a once in a lifetime trip, I need to choose wisely!
totally agree with the title, hawaii is definitely always a good idea, honestly haven't explored much i mainly just chill and eat when i'm there haha
