Day 1:
After taking the bus or train from Split, arrive at historic Dubrovnik. While a little more tourist-y than the other stops, you can still have a great time exploring this seaside escape.
One of the best hostels was Hostel Family Stano. Secluded in the hills of the old city and almost 250 years old, you can get a private room for two with an ocean view for just around 30 euros. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly as well.
Check out the best view of Dubrovnik by taking the cable car up to Mount Srd. Daytime, sunset or night- there's never a bad time to view this UNESCO historic city from above.
Spend the afternoon and evening wandering around the Old City, where you can find authentic local flavors and souvenirs. You can even find 24 hour bakeries, like Zlatno Zrno, where you can get delicious pastries and snacks after a late night or even just a long day.
Day 2:
Explore the sights of HBO's Game of Thrones by taking an official tour. If that's not your style, you can check out the Old Town Market or do some shopping at the boutiques that line the streets. You can also take one last swim in the Adriatic or cone of gelato before you fly back.
