At an elevation of 5200 feet above sea level, Munnar is one of Kerala’s most beloved hill stations. Home to endless tea plantations and foggy mountains, this beautiful hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala is a wonderful place to spend a great vacation.
Day 1
We arrived at God’s Own Country, Kerala by a 2 hour flight from Mumbai and landed at Cochin International Airport. We had pre-booked a cab from Cochin Airport to Munnar which is a 2.5-3 hour drive.
Enroute the Hotel, we focussed on Munnar's North Direction places to visit. We visited the Chinar wild life sanctuary, Sandal wood forest, Valera waterfalls and Karadippara View Point & Kallar Falls. We wanted to go to Rajamalai and Eravikulam national park but could not due to lack of time.
We reached the Hotel, checked in in the evening and relaxed a bit. After having some good sumptous dinner, we took a well deserved shut-eye.
Day 2
For Day 2, we focussed on the East Direction of Munnar. We did Elephant riding, visited Mattupetti Dam, visited points like Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Top station. In the afternoon at around 4 PM, we attended a Kathakali and Marsall Art show.
Day 3
Our Day 3 was focussed on the West Direction of Munnar. We visited Attukad Waterfalls, Pothenmedu sunset view, Blossom Park.
