Decided to go away and bring in my 30th birthday with a quick trip to Puerto Rico. A flight from NYC to Puerto Rico is just a 3 hour & 40-minute flight. What also stood out to me was a U.S. Passport isn't needed to travel there which made it an ideal destination to celebrate with little to no hassle, I didn't want to deal with customs.
Day 1 (Arrival)
As always I decided to stay at https://www.condadovanderbilt.com/ it's just a 15-minute drive from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. Ever since discovering this hotel I've only stayed at the condado vanderbilt. It sits alongside the beach, has an infinity pool and a spa. When you arrive you're greeted with champagne! which is a nice surprise :-). The location is also ideal for exploring having lots of local restaurants and bars walking distance about 5 mins.
Once settled in we decided to chill by the infinity pool with drinks in hand! It really turned out to be a relaxing evening with a sunset as our background. The drinks were priced fairly about $8 USD per cocktail.
Day 2
We decided to go on a jet ski tour at Aquatica Pirate Jet Ski Adventure! It was a really cool experience, we learned about operating a jetski with a 10-minute tutorial then went off on a touring adventure learning about the historical forts along the shore. After that, we visited Scuba Dogs where they took us on a snorkeling tour along the beach where I saw live squid and fish, Pretty COOL!
Later that evening we went bar hopping visiting La Factoria known from appearing in the music video for the song Despacito & Senor Frogs a bit later for some drinks and food.
Day 3
We hung out by the pool in the AM eating breakfast at the hotel's restaurant then went for one more final dip in the infinity pool. Before heading off to the airport we went to a local eatery Cafe del Angel which had some really good food, especially the mofongo which I recommend! Oh, and the steak wasn't too far behind in flavor, taste, and quality!
Overall a really fun trip with cool experiences, great company, and of course the FOOD!
I wish i could celebrate my birthday like that, will definitely try to do it!!
