Belgrade is extremely underrated and many more people need to visit. We flew in here from Nice, landed around 10 at night, got to our hotel (New Belgrade Garni Hotel), showered, and immediately went out to the clubs. They are known for, "splavovi" which are clubs and restaurants on the river (you will not see this anywhere else) If this is not your scene, feel free to go to bed and rest.
Belgrade is known for its nightlife and socializing. You will NEVER be bored here. From clubs, lounges, restaurants, cafes, there are so many activities. The best part is that this country is SO AFFORDABLE. You will find yourself eating for hours and get a small bill. We ate out with 4 people one night (appetizers, drinks, alcohol, heavy dinner, dessert) and paid around 50$. (Note: tipping is optional and not expected, so if you throw in something as small as 5 dollars, they will be SO grateful). The food is very flavorful and the people are extremely nice and hospitable. Everyone is very welcoming and always willing to help.
When we walked around and got lost trying to find places, people literally went out of their way to WALK US to our destination - I have never seen that anywhere while traveling before. People there love foreigners and are proud to show off their country, so they will do whatever they can to make you feel welcome. We got invited to people's homes on multiple occasions because that is so normal over there. They call it, 'gaiba'. They made full course meals JUST FOR US, strangers, to make sure we had a good time and did not go home bored or disappointed. I was amazed at how great these people were and so happy we gave it a whole week there. We had a friend recommend this country/city because he is from there so all I can say is that you are going to get a lot for your money and leave home happy. 100% will be going back here.
