Activities
I love Boulder so much because of the endless opportunities to experience nature and enjoy the mountains. If you've come here to hike, Chataqua is the perfect place to start! This iconic mountainscape of Boulder is called the flatirons because of its slate-like flat peaks that rise above the forest.
To catch the perfect sunset, head up Flagstaff Road, right past Chataqua. The whole drive has incredible views and takes about twenty minutes to get to Lost Gulch Lookout.
The Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder is one of the main attractions of coming to this beautiful town, filled with restaurants and little boutiques. It's the perfect day activity to do a little shopping and maybe buy a couple souvenirs. Stop by Wonder Press for the best juices and smoothies, and just a block down is the Boulder Bookstore, a charming three story bookstore that has something for everyone!
Lodging
If you know me, you know I love to stay at a historic hotel when travelling. I love when I'm staying somewhere with a story, and the vintage charm and luxurious details of Hotel Boulderado make it the perfect place to stay on your weekend getaway. It's located one block from the Pearl Street Mall, so it's easy to walk to restaurants, shopping, and stroll through the neighborhood. And check out Sushi Zanmai right next door!
Places to Eat
The University's mascot is a buffalo, so it's no surprise that The Buff is one of the most popular breakfast places for college students in Boulder. They have excellent iced coffee that comes in a giant mason jar and I love their custard battered sourdough french toast.
Aloy Thai Cuisine is a gem and by far the best place to get Thai food. It was actually featured in Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! I'm obsessed with their green curry, and would also highly recommend their Khao Soi dish if you want to try something new!
Tibet Kitchen is another hole in the wall restaurant that has incredible food. They are famous for their momos, Tibetan Dumplings you can get with chicken or vegetables inside. A great affordable and delicious lunch spot! Another reason I love this place is its proximity to local parks and nature walks. I grabbed takeout and ate it outside to enjoy the beautiful sunny Boulder day.
