5 days in Poland

Day 3:

We took the early morning bus to Krakow,Poland's No.2 city.The ride was 2.5h long and the price was about $15.We got off the bus and grabbed a quick breakfast at at a cafe,before taking a taxi to the Wawel Castle.It's a very big complex including the cathedral that gets pretty crowded in the afternoon,so we were pretty lucky to be there in the morning.A very beautiful place full of history that you can walk around all day.The entrance fee was very cheap,and we also got to see a museum dedicated to Pope John Paul II,a famous figure in the country,and the Sigismund Bell Tower,which we climbed and got a very beautiful view over the city.After a few good hours,we walked our way through the Old Town to the Grodzka Street,where we had lunch at the Pod Aniolami restaurant.

In the evening,we walked around the Rynek Glowny square,before settling down for a beer at an outdoor cafe.We booked an AirBnb room,where we each had our bed to sleep for the night.

Day 4:

Krakow used to have a large Jewish population,so we headed over to the Jewish Quarters for the second day to explore.We started out at the Oskar Schindler's Factory,which now serves as a museum.It's a very interesting museum that tells the story of the man who saved 1200 Jews during the Holocaust in the Krakow Ghetto.The museum holds beautiful reconstructions of Jewish apartments in 20th century Krakow,the basement where they where hid,and many more.We were there on monday,so the entrance was free.It was a very interesting place and definetely one of the trip's highlights for me.

We had a nice stew at the Starka Restaurant for lunch,and then we continued by crossing the Vistula river to get to the Kazimierz neighbourhood.Once the heart of the Jewish Quarters,it is now the home of many synagogues and fancy restaurants.We met up with some people that the Polish guy knew,so we sit down at an outdoor cafe,having a laugh and a few drinks,before calling it a day and going to rest.

Day 5:

On our fifth day in Poland,we went on a daytrip to the Wieliczka Salt Mines.We rented a car to get there,and the entrance fee was about $20.This was the most expensive day of the trip,as we also hired a guide.The place is very informative and well organised.Kilometers of halls,passages,chapels,all built underground by human hands.We had a nice game stew and kielbasa with roasted potatoes for lunch ,and we chilled around for the rest of the day,wandering around the complex.

Later in the evening,we returned to Krakow,where we had dinner at the Kogel Mogel restaurant.We ended the trip at a bar with a few shots of vodka accompanied by pickles.
