Drove from Punta Islita to La Fortuna. Would recomend driving during the daylight because the roads are bumpy and windy.
3 Nights: Hotel El Silencio La Fortuna
A beautiful hotel with a view of the Arenal Volcano from the property. The pool was very relaxing and never crowded. The pools are "hot springs" and are quite warm. One day we hiked around the Arenal Volcano National Park - which has a few cool sites on the trail. That afternoon, we explored the Mistico Hanging Bridges, which is quite touristy but would still highly recommend. The next day we did waterfall repelling with Pure Trek Canyoning, which is only for the adventurous but was a highlight of the trip for the entire group! We enjoyed a few meals in the town of La Fortuna and a chocolate tour nearby as well.
Departure: Returned the car and departed from SJO airport.
Been to Costa Rica and really enjoyed the Volcano National Park. I remember the strong smell of sulfur. Did you see any wildlife (sloths) while there?
