EDMONTON!
Edmonton, Alberta. My hometown. As a local I know more than a few of the good spots so allow me to point them out to you!
THE RIVER VALLEY!
Seperating the North from the South, the North Sasakatchewan river parts right through the middle of the city with a series of trails and tracks running along the river for quite some distance. My favorite area in particular is Emily Murphy park with an extensive trail system that eventually leads you to old strathcona/whyte ave area. Truly beautiful and not too packed either.
WINTER!
Edmonton being the city of festivals has the ice castles festival in Hawrelak park hosted every year in december where ice sculptors gather together to create a winter wonderland for the whole family. Make sure to bundle up as Edmonton and Alberta in general winters get very cold, very quik.
JASPER AVENUE!
Downtown Edmonton's core strip, this is where you will find all the awesome bars and restaurants in central Edmonton. I've had breakfast and brunch at Urban Diner many of times and you should defintley check it out if in the area. Underground Tap and Grill also has mouth watering eats and over 72 craft beers on tap with a rotational menu!
TASTE OF EDMONTON!
The annual food truck festival held at Chruchill square brings hundreds of up and coming food trucks from around the city to all get a fair shot to get their name out their with the amazing foods they cook. You can find literally anything here, all made local and fresh out of food trucks too. A few of the longer-running food trucks also make an appearance if you want some of your all time, old school favorites! Always a must with summer activites.
ALBERTA LEGISLATURE GROUNDS!
Another massive park right smack in the middle of downtown. This park overlooks the Alberta Legislature building and is home to plenty of in-city events and activities. The park has lookout points that allow you to see the walterdale bridge, high level bridge, and low level bridge all connecting the city and giving you a true glance and how big the city truly is. The park is never too crowded with plenty of room for activities!
I've lived in Edmonton over 25 years and know it pretty well. If there is ANYTHING you want to know about it feel free to message me. Ciao!
