SYDNEY!
Ah, Sydney. The classic backdrop to Australia with the darling harbour bridge and the famous Sydney Opera house. I came to Sydney during my year and some in Australia just to check it out and visit and I was defintley impressed. Here's a few things to look out for.
STREET ART!
Is literally everywhere. Much like Melbourne, the artists rule the streets and you can honestly spend hours discovering all the pieces of art hidden on the sides of buildings down back alleys all over the city. Street art is a big part of culture in a city because it reminds us the streets belong to the people.
BONDI BEACH!
The ever famous Bondi Beach. What a surreal place. White sand, crashing waves, a true surf dream. You can take the bondi to coogee coastal walk which takes you along numerous other beaches following a cliffside lookout to the ocean. It's very scenic but can get busy at times. The further down you go, the more the crowd spreads out.
DARLING HARBOUR!
The darling harbour is located right next to the famous sydney opera house and is a bustling pier-front area with lots to offer. There are many boat tours that take off from around this area that will sail around the harbour, under the darling bridge, and around the opera house from here. Another massive building that photos don't do any justice of. Architecture can be quite interesting!
ART GALLERY OF NSW!
The art gallery of New South Wales. What a fantastic experience offering many mediums of art delivered throughout different floors for different styles or shows that were going on at the time. You HAVE to stop here if you are in Sydney and take in the grandeur of art going on in this building. It's also free so that's always a bonus.
BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK!
From Sydney you can take a train out to Katoomba. A small mountain town right on the cusp of the blue mountains national park. Sometimes its good to get out of the city and breath some of that fresh national park air. Blue mountains is home to the three sisters mountains and features many walking trails some even cutting through rainforests.
I enjoyed my time in Sydney thoroughly and hope you do too. Any questions at all feel free to message me! Cheers!
Beautiful pictures of Sydney!
Great recommendations in your itinerary. Will definitely have to check out the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) one day!
