Egypt at it's best!

We took the train from Aswan to Luxor. We took the train at 8:00 in the morning and arrived at 11:00. The price for the train was $2 ( 31 egyptian pounds ).

Day 1,

It was 11:30 a.m and we arrived at the hotel where we booked our rooms, Happy Land Luxor, in the east bank of the city. For only $13, you get a room with 2 beds and breakfast included. We ate breakfast at the hotel and took the bus to the first visit of the day, the mighty Valley of Kings. The Valley of the Kings is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. This is a royal burial ground, with exquisitely decorated tombs for the pharaohs who ruled Egypt between 1539 and 1075 BC. There are over 60 tombs in this small area, although only a handful are open to public. We visited the Tomb of Ramses V,VI and the Tomb of Seti I. After visiting the Valley of Kings, we walked to the other well-known valley, named the Valley of the Queens, where we visited the Tomb of Queen Nefertari. This is the most spectacular tomb we visited in Egypt. It has a huge ticket price, $88 (1400 EGP), plus the entrance fee of $6,3 (100 EGP) to get into the Valley of the Queens, but it is worth it. I've also linked some photos for those of you who haven't had the occasion to see it. We took a bus ( ticket - under 1EGP or $0,1) to visit the Ramesseum. This is a mortuary temple that usually does not make it on the must-visit list of the West Bank of Luxor, but maybe that is why we liked it so much. It is a beautiful temple, another one of many temples dedicated to the great Ramesses II. I forgot to mention it, but we hired a taxi for the whole day and that's that we used for transportation during the day. We wanted to go back to the hotel, but the taxi driver told us about one more historically beautiful place we must see, The Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu. This huge temple complex is dedicated to Ramesses III. There are several courtyards, pylons, and peristyle halls, with inscribed reliefs illustrating the defeat of the Sea People during the rule of Ramesses III. The great complex was our last visit in Egypt, before going back to the hotel. We dined at the hotel and slept there until morning, when we took our flight from Luxor's International Airport.

Overall, in this trip, we visited a lot of beautiful historical monuments and learned much more about egiptian history and religion. I really enjoyed it and i hope that you found this itinerary helpful if you want to travel to Egypt!
