GOA
What a powerhouse of a place. I came here during my trip to India in 2016. Took a bus from Mmbai and I cannot recommend this area enough. For starters, Goa is technically an entire state but it is so small compared to the rest of the Indian states that it's easy to traverse most of it within just a few days if you had proper transportation. I'll share with you all the best beaches in this tropical Indian state.
CANDOLIM BEACH
Known as the quietest beach in Goa, this place has white sand and a beautiful calm aura to it. There many beach cafes with lounge chairs out front. Anyone is welcome to come sit but it is expected that you order food or drink. Mama Cecilia's beach cafe was a beautiful little spot offering fresh caught fish at market prices. It was delicious and only cost around 5 or 6 cad for the whole meal. Again, the quietness of the beach is shocking especially when you look around at how much is going on it's still so, so quiet.
VAGATOR BEACH
Located in North Goa this beach is a must see. Hosting plenty of palm trees and a rocky along-the-sea hike it's a beautiful spot to relax. Usually frequented by families having picnics or playing beach games. We got here by Motorbike and I should mention now that it was only about 60 CAD to rent a Royal Enfield for 1 week which I suppose isn't too bad given the location!
ANJUNA BEACH
Known as a bit of a party beach Anjuna hosts it all. During the day there is a very chill, laidback vibe offering plenty of beachfront cafe's and clubs playing really chill music. At night there is a beachfront club called "Shiva's Valley" that hosts a myriad of Goa Trance DJ's with a more psytrance type of feel. Cafes stay open for the hungry and who could forget the shisha? Smoking while looking out to the sea and listening to psytrance pretty much sums up Goa to me. Hahaha.
Overall Goa has so many nice and wonderful things to do, beach culture is just one big part of that. With so many cafes and night markets around the area there is defintley something here for everyone. Enjoy your time and godspeed!
