A few months ago, my friends and I had the opportunity to travel to the Baja California Peninsula to enjoy a spectacular getaway. During that trip, I dedicated myself to gathering interesting information for those tourists traveling for the first time to Los Cabos who might still have some doubts about this unique destination. First of all, "Los Cabos" (The Capes) is not a single city, but a municipality at the southern tip of the Baja California Sur state, made famous by two main towns: the lively Cabo San Lucas and the tranquil San José del Cabo. Their old name was "Yenecamú." A bit farther north lies the state capital, La Paz, an authentic port city with a charm all its own. Together, they offer a stunning desert-meets-the-sea landscape, dramatically different from the Caribbean coast.

Los Cabos is ideally suited for a wide range of travelers. From honeymooners and golfers seeking luxury resorts to adventurers looking to snorkel with whale sharks or sport fishers aiming for a legendary marlin catch.

The climate in Los Cabos is desert-like, with sunshine dominating most of the year. It has an average temperature of 24°C (75°F), but can easily exceed 35°C (95°F) in the summer. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the hurricane season runs from June to October, with September being the most active month. Therefore, the best season to travel is during the dry and sunny months from November to May.

The nightlife in Los Cabos is legendary, but it's primarily concentrated in Cabo San Lucas. Here, you'll find a vibrant scene of nightclubs, bars, and beach clubs that pump music until the early hours. San José del Cabo offers a more subdued and sophisticated evening experience, with art gallery openings and elegant terrace restaurants. La Paz has a relaxed, local vibe with breezy waterfront bars.

A key event in the area is the Bisbee's Black & Blue Marlin Tournament, held in Cabo San Lucas every October, which draws sportfishing teams from around the world. San José del Cabo is famous for its weekly Thursday Night Art Walk in its historic Art District.

The region is divided into three main destinations:

• Cabo San Lucas: The vibrant heart of tourism, known for its iconic arch, lively marina, and non-stop party atmosphere.
• San José del Cabo: The historic and cultural capital, featuring a charming colonial-style town square, an art district, and a more tranquil ambiance.
• The Corridor: The 20-mile stretch of coastline between the two "Cabos," lined with world-class golf courses, luxury all-inclusive resorts, and stunning beaches.
• La Paz: Located about two hours north, it's a genuine Mexican port city, serving as the gateway to the UNESCO-protected Sea of Cortez and offering a more laid-back, cultural experience (The transfers from Los Cabos International Airport to La Paz, Baja California Sur, takes approximately 2 hours and 19 minutes).

The nightlife in Cabo San Lucas offers a party atmosphere that rivals any other destination, with visitors spending incredible moments in its famous clubs. Meanwhile, the serene beauty of La Paz and the colonial charm of San José del Cabo provide a perfect balance for those seeking culture and relaxation.
