Day 1: We flew into Portland on a late night Southwest flight and rented a car from National because it was the most reasonable for a mid size car. We drove about 20 mins to reach the city and stayed at Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. The hotel was in the heart of the city across from the water. Hotel ran about $150.00 a night. Parking can be a bit pricey at the hotel since it's in the city so we chose to park in the garage which is located directly behind the hotel and the parking was only $15.00 for the night.
Day 2: When we woke up in the morning we had beautiful views of the City and waterfront! There is a nice walking path outside of the hotel along the water so we woke up early and went walking along the waterfront. If you are looking for a nice breakfast the hotel has a full service restaurant on the 1st floor which was delicious food. They also have a good coffee bar in the lobby.
As day 2 continued we made our way to Willamette Valley the wine country of Oregon! Willamette Valley is home to more than 500 wineries and we made it to the 2 most beautiful ones.
Winery#1 Domaine Serene: The beautiful vineyard surrounds you with so much beauty while you sit on the patio taking in all the sights. We had a wine tasting which roughly was about $25.00 per person and we ordered a meat and cheese plate which was prepared so lovely.
Winery#2 Rex Hill : if you can go to this winery don't miss it! It sits up on a little hill surrounded by beautiful gardens where you can take your wine and walk along and see all the flowers. There is a beautiful deck that wraps around the winery and you have views of the vineyards, the hills, and the garden. We did a white and red wine tasting here which ran about $20.00 per person.
Lodging: For our last night in Oregon we stayed in Willamette Valley at #thevintagestrailerresort. Its the perfect location when explorering wine country in Oregon! A night starts at around $130.00 and you have your own little vintage trailer with a little deck, grill, bicycles to ride around the lots and each has its own little bathroom and kitchen! They are decorated so adorable and they are so comfortable!
Domaine Serene is one of the many I've visited in the state, great choice!
I've never thought to go wine tasting in Oregon but it sounds great, might be worth adding to my bucket list!!
