We had our lunch from Gertrude's; Desert Botanical Garden's relaxed bar/restaurant which serves sustainable, refined American meals. This is a great place to stop and take a break at the botanical gardens. Not a huge selection of food, but that's usually the case when everything is fresh and local!
In the late afternoon we came back to the city and went to explore the bustling CityScape. This is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, CityScape is a dynamic, urban, mixed-use destination that brings together a dazzling office tower, boutique hotel, residential apartments and a smart collection of retail shops, restaurants and sophisticated entertainment attractions - all centered on an energy-filled, open plaza. This is a fun place to hang out!! Just need more parking and less construction. But soon it will be awesome sauce!! Lots of stuff to do and shop at!! Everything is walking distance, just watch for construction alternative routes. Happy fun!!
On the next day we started with Phoenix's most famous breakfast spot, Matt's Big Breakfast. It serves homestyle breakfast, including the Hog & Chick, a classic combination of two eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, and potatoes. Known as much for its long lines as for its excellent food. Later we stopped at Heard Museum. Heard museum exhibits devoted to Native American civilizations, including a big collection of Southwestern art. After that while heading to Phoenix City Hall, we also stopped at Phoenix Art Museum. It has an expansive collection of acclaimed art spanning from the Renaissance to the present.
Lastly we stopped at Phoenix City Hall which is the center of government for the city of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Located in Downtown Phoenix, the 20-floor, 368-foot building was designed by architectural firm Langdon Wilson. This is a massive building! Nice, friendly, and helpful staff. There is a park located near the entrance!
Phoenix downtown has a large number of restaurants and bars with a variety of choices. You can easily find your best taste of food.
