Day 1
Arrive in Sydney after a long 2 days of traveling across the world. After collecting our bags we got a cab to our beautiful hotel. We stayed at the Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection. #marriott It was the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen! It sat right on the Harbour and from the hotel you could see the bri indge! You could walk to the bridge in about 1 min from th hotel. The lobby had this cray beautiful bar that opened up to the water and you could sit outside on the deck look at the boats and at the bridge. Views that are out of this world. The hotel had a lovely breakfast in the am that had american styele and local food. It was both great. The location of the hotel could not be any better. This hotel starts at about $250.00 a night but it was worth every dollar!
After we got settled we made our way into the town to check it out. The town had a european feel with all old buildings with bars and restaurants outside. It was very nice and so much to chose from.
Head over to the Rocks it is a neighbourhood fo historic laneways. Streets lined with shopping and eating. You could spend hours walking around and exploring.
For dinner we went to the Sydney Oyster House. It sat right on the edge of the water with views of the Sydney Bridge. Food was great and the oysters even better. It was a little pricey but you are paying for the views.
Day 2
We got up early to walk to the bridge and have coffee at a little coffee shop that was just around the bridge. The Sydney Harbour has to be the busiest Harbour I have ever seen in my life. There is a constant movement day and night.
We spent the day walking Bronte Park. This took us about 3 hours to do because we wanted to walk the entire way. We had so many stops at little beaches, coves, swimming holes, places to eat, use the bathroom, walking on cliffs, we even went swimming. If youare able take the time to do this. There are so many sights on this walking excursion. You can start at any point and end whenever you want. We took a cab and it was about 15 mins from our hotel.
Tonight we went and to the Sydney Opera house and had dinner which was a 5 course tasting menu. We reserved this months in advance. I highly recommend it! The chief out of this world and the food is amazing. Just to have dinner in teh Sydney Opera House is an experience in its own. The restaurant is called Bennelong. If you go let the chief decide what he wants to cook for you.
After dinner we saw an Opera at the Sydney Opera house. Be sure to also book this months in advance. We got seats in about the 5th room and it is definelty where you should be if you are only going once. We did not know what we were seeing but we knew we wanted to see anything as long as it was there. We did not understand it but it was the most beautiful opera I have ever seen. During the break we walked outside and there were fireworks going off. It was perfect timining. If you do not like the opera or think you will not like it go anyways! I promise you will not regret it!
Day 3
We had pre booked tickets to go and see the inside of the Syndey Opera house and the different rooms and how it all functioned. We had a guide and he took us around and talked about everything. It was very interesting. It took about 2 hours to see everything.
We spent the rest of our day exploring Sydney and we walked the Sydney Bridge. We went up on the side a few flights up and you could see some of Sydney from there. We walked across to the other side and turned around and walked back. There is a big walking path.
For dinner we went back to our hotel sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful views. We ended up ordering room service which was fish, chips, and ice cream. The fish was very good!!
Sydney is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. If you ever want to travel far this is your place! I promise you will not regret it!
