Day 1:
We started in Gresham, taking I-84 east. First stop, Multnomah Falls. This 611 foot waterfall is a very popular spot, so expect to see quite a few people. However, it is well worth it. There's an easy 5-minute walk to Benson Bridge, giving you a great view of the falls and the 70 foot drop below! There's a 2.4 mile hike to the top which my friend and I did, it was steep but worth the view.
That night, we stayed at Ainsworth State Park. You will need reservations as it fills up quickly in the busy season. You can buy fire wood from the camp host (there isn't much wood to scrounge around here), though packing in your own wood would be a more affordable choice.
