This was our first time visiting chennai and puducherry the french dominated Union Territory pre- independence.we were very excited about the trip, its basically french and Indian culture infused.
Day 1:- we arrived at the airport in chennai, india. Formerly known as madras and one of the biggest cities in india. The weather was super humid , you would just drown in sweat just by standing.anyway, we landed and headed towards the hotel IBIS CHENNAI, if you are looking for a budget hotel this is the one.we had our lunch in the local restaurant called Annalakshmi vegetarian, this is the authentic south indian cuisine restaurant. Then we hit the beautiful becah of Chennai and spent some time there till nighfall and ate some locally made fritters and went to bed.ps:- chennai is not a more of night city and people will frown upon you of you are drinking in public
Day 2:- we woke up early to catch the sunrise at the beach and it was beautiful. Then we had some DOSAS they are the south indian breakfast and then we headed to kanchipuram which is around 100 km from chennai and visited the famous hindu temple there and the sacred touching of the golden lizard, we had a free meal at the temple, which is considered as God's meal and then left to Pondicherry.
Ps:- i would not recommend driving in india. Its literally impossible to drive for the non locals
