If you are thinking of going to Portland Maine you need to go!#portlandmaine
Day 1: Took a road trip with our friends to Portland Maine and arrived around noon which was perfect because our room was ready! We stayed at the AC Hotel Portland Downtown/Waterfront! It's the perfect location!! You can walk everywhere and it's right on the water. The hotel bar has the best drinks so before you head out stop and grab and drink and sit and people watch. Agree we had our drink we went and toured the Victoria Mansion. It's about 17$ per person and about an hour tour. Be sure to Pre reserve because they sell out fast! The tour is so informative and such a great experience to see all of the old treasures. After the tour we walked around the corner from our hotel to this amazing Italian store where we bought salami, cheese, bread, olives, wine, peppers and oil and made a big charcuterie board in our room for lunch! The prices were so reasonable and if you love Italian food this is the place you need to be. Don't miss Micucci Grocery Store!! The smells are amazing!!!!
Dinner: Our first night we went to Sur Lie which is a small Tapas restaurant where most plates are shareable so you can try everything. This is a must!! The chef had the most amazing dishes and he was so creative!! Your taste buds will be going crazy!!! It's about 1 mile from the hotel and from 3pm till 11pm the hotel offers free rides whitin a mile of hotel so it worked out great!
Day 2: We had breakfast on the water at The Porthole Restaurant & Pub. Service was great, you can walk there from the hotel and there's a ton of seating outside. If you go get the eggs Benedict or the French toast!!! Both out of this world!
Afternoon Excursion: We spent the day with Lucky Catch cruises on a lobster excursion! We went on a boat ride to different pots to catch lobster. On the way out they explained everything, talked to us about the lobsters and the area, they got us so involved by letting us bait the traps, fill the trap bags, pick up the lobsters, and help with whatever needed done. After catching them we went we were able to take them to the restaurant at the pier called Portland Lobster Co and for 12$ they cooked our lobster and we got 3 sides with it. It all tasted so good!!
Dinner: Another must not miss is Duckfat!!! They have the best fried Deviled Eggs! It's another shareable place for food but it's a great way to try foods you would never order because if you don't like it there's another dish coming. This is walkable from the hotel it's under a half of mile.
The food there sounds incredible, I'm not ashamed to say I'm all about the food when I travel haha, massive foodie!
