Pisang Peak, which is also known as Jong Ri, is a popular climbing peak in the Himalayas of Nepal. Standing tall at 6,091 meters (19,984 feet), it boasts a stunning dome shape and is situated above the picturesque Manang Valley and Pisang village.
While climbing Pisang Peak, it offers breathtaking views of Mt. Annapurna's II, III, and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tilicho, and the Manaslu Mountain range. Surrounded by the majestic Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu, the scenery enhances the beauty of the Journey.
The Journey begins with a stunning drive from Kathmandu to Chamje. Following the Marsyangdi River to its source at Manang glacial lake, we pass through a desert-like arctic zone west of Manang. After taking a full rest in Upper Pisang for acclimatization, we will proceed to High Camp. At the high camp, our special team will set up the tents, and we will prepare for the summit.
Checking health is very important before we head toward the summit. Also, you need to check carefully that all the climbing equipment, such as crampons, harnesses, ropes, and ice axes, is in order. The climb itself involves navigating a uniform slope to the final snow-covered and icy summit pyramid. Always stay near the Guide and follow the order and safety instructions given by your Guide. It is important to overcome the technical sections and successfully reach the summit.
Also, during this trek, you will get the chance to explore the Manang region, and while crossing from Thorang-la Pass to Muktinath, you can see a glimpse of the Upper Mustang. You will also visit the religious site of Muktinath, meaning God of Salvation. You can take a bath in the famous 108 water sprouts, which are special for tourists and religious people.

After several ascents and descents, the destination, Dharapani, closes up. Dharapani is a charming traditional village of Gurung communities.
After leaving Dharapani, we'll climb through forested hills to the west. By late afternoon, we'll reach Chame, the central hub of the Manang district. A well-rested body can start fresh on the next-day journey with upgraded strength and stamina. To build up your endurance capacity, you can engage in light physical and cardiovascular exercises.
Spend your leisure day acclimatizing to the environment, which helps the body to adjust to the elevation and high-altitude surroundings. It helps to reduce the potential altitude sickness attacks. Next, you can review your gear and climbing equipment, and if time permits, you can visit and explore the Upper Pisang village. Know and understand the culture and tradition of the region and marvel at the fantastic mountain views seen from there.
The trek begins from Upper Pisang Village after an acclimatization day, passing the traditional villages. You can witness the prayer flags, monasteries, ancient architecture, unique culture, etc. while passing through the settlements. The trail heads towards Pisang Peak Base Camp, where you have to ascend through the alpine terrains and rocky paths. We will finally reach the base camp from Pisang and stay there for the night. The Pisang Peak Base Camp offers awe-inspiring views of the stunning Himalayan peaks.
The Pisang Peak Climbing adventure is a significant step forward as you hike from Pisang Base Camp to High Camp. This part of the journey is critical as it positions you closer to the summit.
Your journey begins early in the morning with a hearty breakfast at Pisang Base Camp. The hike to High Camp is challenging and involves a steep climb. This part of the trek usually takes about 4-5 hours, depending on weather conditions and the pace of your group.
As you ascend to High Camp, located at an altitude of 5,350 meters, the effects of high altitude become more pronounced. It’s essential to monitor your body’s response and communicate any discomfort to your guide.
During the climb, you can see the breathtaking views of the Annapurna range, Chulu East, Chulu West, and other surrounding peaks. The landscape becomes more rugged and alpine as you ascend. Make sure to walk slowly and steadily, giving your body time to get used to the higher altitude. Taking regular breaks for hydration and rest is essential.
Once you arrive at High Camp, your team will set up the camp. High Camp typically consists of tents and basic facilities, as it serves as a temporary setup for the summit attempt.
Try to sleep early because you will be heading tomorrow before dawn. Prepare your gear, ensure your climbing equipment is in order, and discuss plans with your guide. Don't forget to keep your body hydrated all the time and eat proper nutritious food. Rest well, focus on positive thoughts, and visualize a successful climb.
Today is marked as an important day for every climber and is also challenging. You will ascend from the high camp to the summit and then get back to the base camp.
Today, we will begin to climb early in the morning, around 2-3 am, to take advantage of the stable weather conditions and return to Base camp before the afternoon.
The summit involves navigating steep snow and ice slopes where you will be using your technical climbing gear. The ascent is physically demanding and also requires mental resilience. The main challenges that you will face during this period are high winds, cold temperatures, and altitude effects. Maintain safety all the time and stay always close to the guide. Be vigilant about your physical and mental conditions.
Finally, after you reach the summit, you can see the extensive
views of the Annapurna range, Manaslu, and other mountain peaks. This is the moment of triumph.
Then, you will descend to Base camp after spending some time at the summit. Descending is faster but requires caution to avoid fatigue-related mistakes. After reaching the camp, you can celebrate the success with your team.
Also, remember to monitor your health all the time, especially the symptoms of altitude sickness. Then, you will start preparing for the next phase of your journey, which involves further descent to lower altitudes.

When we reach Manang, we'll have a chance to explore the valley with its unique culture and stone houses. We'll be staying overnight in Manang.
After exploring the different landscapes and experiencing the local culture in Manang Valley, the journey continues towards Yak Kharka. Take in the beautiful views of Annapurna and Gangapurna while going at a steady pace uphill.
While trekking, you'll encounter diverse terrains – from alpine areas to forests and Himalayan vegetation. Finally, you'll arrive at Yak Kharka, which is essentially a high-altitude grazing area for yaks. It's surrounded by alpine meadows and has small settlements where you can learn about the local culture and the way people live.
Today, we leave small villages to reach Thorung Phedi, the base of the tough Thorung La Pass. We start our trek from Yak Kharka, surrounded by mountains, and follow rocky paths with rough terrains towards Thorang Phedi. The scenery changes to high alpine areas, and the trails get steeper as we get closer to Thorung Phedi. Along the way, we get amazing views of snow-capped Himalayas, making the trek even more spectacular.
Today, you wake up early because you're heading to Muktinath through Thorong La Pass – a challenging journey. The pass offers breathtaking views of Mt Annapurna, Thorang Peak, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri Himal. The prayer flags and cozy tea houses make the place even more beautiful. Your goal is to cross the pass before midday.
You trek through rocky trails and dense forests, reaching the pass. Be careful of the strong winds there. After enjoying the stunning landscapes and mountains, you continue your trek.
Descending, you finally reach Muktinath, a holy temple for both Buddhists and Hindus. It attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Today, your journey begins by walking downhill to a popular Village. Walking further, we'll pass through Ekle Bhatti to reach Kagbeni. There are plenty of monasteries in Kagbeni, from the old one to the new one. Also, from the edge of the Kagbeni village, you can get a glimpse of Upper Mustang. During the walk, you can feel the strong wind and dust. Then, after walking further through the green forest, you will finally reach Jomsom.
It is about a half-hour flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. There are plenty of attractive palaces in Pokhara that you must visit while staying there. Among them are Phewa Lake, Bat Cave, Mahendra Cave, Peace Temple, Gupteswar Gupha, Pumdikot Shiva Statue, and many more.
Pokhara is a famous tourist hub, so the streets are pretty crowded in the evening. You can taste the local food at a cheap price from the food stall. Also, walking around the lakeside will help to relax your mind and body.
Early in the morning, after having breakfast, you take a ride from Pokhara to Kathmandu. It will take approximately 6-7 hours to reach Kathmandu, depending upon the traffic condition.
After the long drive from yesterday's journey, you might be tired. So you can take a rest or if you still have the energy you can roam around the city. You can either visit the heritage site that you missed before or enjoy your day in the Thamel for relaxation.
There are plenty of restaurants, cafe bars, and spa centers, and you can even buy souvenirs from shops. In the evening, we will arrange a dinner program to celebrate the summit of Pisang Peak climbing for you as a farewell treat from our company.
Our staff will take you to the TIA for the departure. You will head to your home with all the memories that you made during the entire trip.
