Ping-Pong Around Southern Japan on a Budget

Day 2 (cont):

• Arrived at Kyoto Station
• Higashi-Hogan-ji Temple area
• Pokemon Center - Kyoto
• Checked in at Santiago Guesthouse Hostel in Kyoto 
• Lunch @ Nishiki Market
• Walked to Yasaka-Jinja Shrine area - hiked to top of hill & got an awesome view of the city
• Chokokuji Temple
• Explored the Izakaya area & had dinner

Day 3: 

• Woke up early and headed to Fushimi Inari temple - via Keihan Main Line
• Breakfast was Onigiri & Iced Coffee from 7-11
• Walked the 10k Torii Gate path - its a few miles long, uphill. So be aware.
• Found a bamboo forest in area
• Tamayama Inarisha 
• Took bus lines to Ginkaku-ji Temple & Kinkakuji Temple
• Lunch at Sukiya Karasuma Marutamachi near Kyoto Imperial Palace
• Nishiki Market & shopping for the afternoon
• Dinner @ hostel - highly recommend the curry!

Day 4:

• Woke up early & headed to Kyoto station
• Took bullet train to Osaka

Notes: by far my favorite city during the trip. Didn't make note of the sheer amount of temples that we passed by and poked in on. Additional photo is all the items that we had listed as potential places to visit.
