Tours on your own: Wine hopping in Niagara-on-the-Lake is the best! We went in May and should have waited till around June when it was a little warmer to bike to different wineries but it worked out ok. We rented bicycles for the day and rode to each winery. There are bike paths everywhere becuase this is what they are known for. So biking to winries is a very common thing there. We wented form Zoom Lesiure Bike Rental and Wine tours. We rented for the entire day and it was not priced terrible. We rented a full day for $35.00 this way we would not have to be back by the time they close which was pretty early like around 5:00 pm.
Wine: There are so many wineries to go to along the way but one of the best ones were Hinterbrook Winery they had a nice tasting room surrounded by wine barrels and it was candelight inside becuase the room had no windows. Another great winery not to miss is Pillitteri Estates Winery. They had great food and great wine. We were able to ride to these two plus many more along the way.
Where to stay: We stayed overlooking the falls at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel. The view of the falls was amazing and you could see the fireworks from our room. It is close to everything so you can just go out and walk around and not worry about driving. #marriott They have a great breakfast on top of hotel looking out at falls. Its not free but its a big buffett. Everything you can imagine they had!
Where to eat: Top of the falls is a great restaurant with amazing views and if you are looking for a great steak go to Prime Seakhouse Niagara Falls! Best steak and romantic setting of the falls.
Excursions: If you have time go on the Maid of the Mist Boat Tour. Its kind of scray going underneath the falls but wow what an expereince. Its really something everybody should do at least one time. It takes about an hour and its very cheap to do this. Its something kids would also love. Be sure to wear a poncho becuase you will get soaked! #maidofthemist
