I visited Malaysia (Mainly Kuala Lumpur) with my family for a short holiday of 4 days. Although we didn't plan to do much and just have a good time, we ended doing quite a bit. Malaysia is a mix of everything: good food, vibrant culture, nice hiking and nature activities, historical landmarks, not too expensive as Singapore and not too crowded. Plus convenient public transportation options too.
Day 1 - Local Sites including Petronas Twin Towers
Day 2 - Genting Highlands & Batu Caves
Day 3 - Just Leisure
We had planned for the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park or the aquarium but we dropped idea for both as we had seen similar stuff in Singapore. Instead we set out to explore the local cuisine and other local cultural stuff. We took the local transport and hopped from one place to another at our own pace. We saw the central market at Chinatown and ended the day with local cuisine at Jalan Alor which is sort of a hawker street. The wide range of food available is amazing with barbecued meats, noodles and what not and it is quite cheap.
Of course, there might be many places we did not visit but the intention of the short holiday was relaxation & a refreshing change. Malaysia did all what was expected. I hope to visit again !
