Japan - Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka Without Too Many Shrines

Day 5: Tokyo - Enoshima/Kamakura day trip Sept 11

• Kotoku-in in Kamakura
  • This is a big Buddha statue shrine
  • We should have also visited the great ginko tree while in Kamakura, but we didn't 
• Train to Enoshima
  • This was the coolest train ride of the trip because we got to travel along the coast of Sagami Bay and see Mt Mihara in the distance 
• Enoshima Sea Candle
  • You have to walk all the way up to the top of the island to get to the "sea candle". Stair city. 
  • Ate some octopus chips/paper/pancakes here that were incredible 
  • You can see Mt Fuji from the top if it's a nice enough day 
• Iwaya Cave
  • Around the back end of the island, there's a neat cave system with a dragon inside
  • Could be cool for children or if you haven't been in a cave before 
• Enoshima Island Spa
  
  • This is an onsen
  • Don't let you hair into the water 
  • Follow the diagrams on the walls to know what to do 
  • Enjoy the beautiful views of the bay and Mt Fuji 
  • Know that if you plan to stick with someone of the opposite sex, you won't get to enjoy everything the onsen has to offer 

10/10 would hike around Enoshima any time
