Day 1: We arrived in Jackson in the smallest airport possible. Once we landed we got our rental car which was about $75.00 a day I thought was kinda pricey but its a small airport with not a lot of cars. Plus you really need a car to drive around the parks. We checked into our hotel which was right in the little town of Jackson which is only about 10 mins or so from the airport. We stayed at the 49er and it was perfect! It was walking distance to everything, parking was free, and they had a free hot breakfast!!! We paid about $150.00 a night but that is normal for that tourist area. After checking in we went into Grand Teton Park and did the hike up Jenny Lake! This is the most beautiful hike around a lake and to a waterfall I have ever seen. It is 5 miles roundtrip and its not very hard just a little up hill but nothing you can not handle. There are bathrooms at the bottom if you need to use them before you start. You can take the hike one way if you want to hike up and there is a boat that will take you back down to the main entrance. You will need to be done by 3:00 pm becuase the boat does not run late. We did not use this option but we know others that did and liked it.
Dinner: You can not miss it! It is in the center of town The Million Dollar Cowboy bar! They have seats at the bar that are horse saddles and there is so much to walk around and see. Its a really big bar and the food is great! They have a great cheeseburger as well. #milliondollarcowboybar
Drinks: The RoadHouse Brewing Company has great beer and great wine! They are in the little town as well and they have a rooftop bar with heaters and you can sit outside look at the mountains and look at the town from above. #rooftopbar
Day 2: We spend the day in Yellowstone and it took us about an hour to get into the park but so worth it! We saw bears, we went to the Grand Prismatic Spring which is a not miss you see so many colorful rocks, we saw fox, we say a moose, we also took a hike the grand canyon of Yellowstone which is highly recommened. This is a full day and we did not return back to our hotel until late. Make sure you fill up on gas before entering the park and make sure you packs snacks and a cooler with other foods and drinks. There is not much once you get into the park. #packacooler
Activities: There are so many things to do once you are in the parks. You are sure to pass a million hikes while diriving. They will give you a map before you enter the parks and you can map out where you want to hike or even bike. There are so many bike paths everywhere and you can even rent bikes if you do not have one. We are very active people so whenver we saw a sign for hiking we stopped.
Both Grand Teton and Yellowstone are incredible national parks. Incredible places to hike
Yellowstone is my favourite national park, glad you enjoyed it!
