HOI AN!
This beautiful, ancient town in Vietnam is one of the most photographed areas of Vietnam. I was lucky enough to go to some of these places over the course of a weekend so I'll point you in the right direction!
BANH MI PHUONG!
The famous banh mi of vietnam. This place quickly gained popularity after the late Anthony Bordain visited here with his TV show. Ever since the place has always had a lineup going out the front. This was truly the best banh mi I had in vietnam.
AN BANG BEACH!
Ahhh, nothing says tropical like a beach! Somewhat on the north eastern side of Hoi An, An Bang beach hosts a plethora of beach cafe's and hostels, all with their own bars and restaurants. You can walk along the beach for hours and still have room left to go!
ANCIENT TOWN!
The most photogenic place in all of Hoi An. This calm little market type area is all lit up at night with lanterns and dim street lights. It's truly a vibe of it's own. Most of the area is just market goods but with plenty, and I mean plenty, of walking room, so don't worry about large crowds. The area sprawls out pretty far and you could defintley spend awhile here too. If you're in the area try the famous brewed iced tea called MOT! You will not regret it.
THU BON RIVER!
Flowing right through the center of Hoi An it is impossible to miss. At night the river is lined with plenty of boats all with hanging lanterns adding to the coloured ambiance at night. You can see all the lights reflecting off the water like little diamonds, and if you're keen, why not go for a little ride down the river? Truly a fantastic experience.
BICYCLES!
Hoi An is the most bicycle friendly town in all of Vietnam. It's effecient to get around and adds to the general ambiance of the whole place. Hardly any cars and scooters are going to it really helps with the noise pollution too. Rentals are available everywhere for next to nothing for daily rates.
I hope you will enjoy Hoi An as much as I did! Next time I will need to stay much longer!
