HOBART!

What an unreal little port town. Technically the capital of Tasmania, this little city sure has a homely vibe about it. Plenty to do in the city as well as just outside of it.

SALAMANCA MARKET!

This nifty little farmers market is held each weekend at Salamanca place, right down by the pier! Folks from all over come and sell literally everything. ANYTHING you can think of will be here as fresh as it gets, all day. It's a true melting pot of culture, even all the way down here in Tasmania.

WATERFRONT PLACE!

Also just known as the pier. All of Hobarts fishing and cruise ships dock here and it's quite the site to see. In February every year there is a viking boat festival that shows up in the entire pier and you can take a tour on the boats, all of them real wood!

QUEENS DOMAIN BOTANICAL GARDEN!

I can safely say this is one of the better botanic gardens in all of Australia. They have multiple exhibits from around the world including an entire Japan garden complete with a koi pond! They even have the arctic circle botany in a cold greenhouse. Must visit!

NORTH HOBART!

A real neighbourly community. Lots of friendly people and nice neighbourhood pubs with a lot of live music. It's also a quieter area of town so there isn't as much going as by the waterfront for example. If you're after a pub feed and some nice live music, north hobart is the place to be.

NUTGROVE BEACH!

Located south of the Salamanca market, you continue down a straight road following the coastline until you hit Nutgrove beach. This is another very quiet area with spectacular views of the tasmanian mountains and the ocean right at your feet. Lovely days indeed. Don't miss it.

IRISH MURPHYS!

Hands down one of the best watering holes in all of Australia. This is the freshest, nicest guinness I have ever had in my life in a very classical irish pub setting. Right by the water and offering a fantastic patio, the hospitality here is not to be missed. Also, one of the best guinness beef pies in Australia. Truly delightful. They make you feel at home here by the water.

I could go on for ages. Tasmania as a whole was simply amazing. I bikepacked from northern tassie right down to southern so if you have any questions at all let me know! Cheers!
