GOLD COAST!
If you're looking for a sunny getaway on a whte sand beach look no further. Gold Coast has been the choice vacation spot for locals and foreigners alike offering beautiful white sand beach landscapes mixed with towering skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise. I had originally came here for just the weekend but ended up staying nearly an entire month!
CLUBS!
Gold Coast is pretty much the party capital of Oz. I wish I had known this before arriving. Think of Vegas with a white sand beach. Pretty much every hostel in town has some type of night revolving around different clubs. If you're staying at pretty much any hostel in Surfers Paradise and you fancy a night out ask the hostel about any backpacker promo's. They've always got some type of deal going on. One of the cool ones there is "Sin City". A fairly laid back club that's not too over the top. There are a few places like this in goldie, and if you're into that kind of thing, you won't have a problem finding it.
SURFING!
If you're into big surf you've come to the right place. Gold Coast hosts a plethora of nice beaches. You can literally walk for 3+ hours still be on sand! As the name suggests, Surfers Paradise beach is where you can go to see all the amazing waves and surfers trying their best to tube them. If you've never surfed that is okay because each beach has rentals and lessons to go with the watersport you are looking for!
BEACH LIFE!
As stated before, Gold Coast is pretty much Vegas with a white sand beach. You can do anything you feel like in the city itself and beach will always be just around the corner. You can go as far south as Coolangatta for a much more laidback beach experience. You get the true surf and beach bum culture the further south you go. I could wander the beaches here endlessly and not get tired of it.
BURLEIGH HEADS!
This little area is technically a suburb of Gold Coast, but is thriving enough to be it's own town. Riddled with cafes and restaurants this area is not to be missed. The beach is less packed here and they also offer the beautiful sites and trails of Burleigh Head National Park! It was here that I saw my very first snake in Australia. It was massive and crawling across the path at a slow pace. It was fascinating to watch. From Burleigh Heads you can see the rest of the city of Gold Coast down the beach and it's quite the skyline picture! Highly reccommend this area.
So if you're into beaches with a bit of partying on the side, Gold Coast is awaiting you. I had so much fun here and I truly hope all of you do too! Ciao!
