We arrived late afternoon into Fiji. We stayed at the Intercontinental in Fiji and it was amazing. We stayed right on the ocean with a hut on the sand with a walk out into the coean. We had a hot tub on our patio with chairs to lay in and a table for eating. The room was big with doors that opened the entire length of the room so you could keep them open and get the fresh ocean breeze in. The hotel had 3 big pools with a open air reception center. They had a few different restaurants on property. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast which was outside on a nice patio and you could view all of the resort from there. The hotel is about $800.00 a night.
Pool
The one pool is an infinity pool and it looks out over into the ocean. There are plenty of chairs and a bar service at the pool. Drinks are good but pricey which is not included in the price.
Beach
The beach is very large and if you are a runner you can run over a mile to the other side. There are big rocks around the otehr side of beach where you can find sea animals when the tide is down. The beach is so pretty with blue waters and it is very warm.
Dinner
Every night we chose a differen restaurant to eat at. They had seafood, Italian, and a local food. It was all very good and all fresh. Now again food is not included and the prices were kind of high but it is a resort so you are paying for that. But the food is very worth it and the service is great! The views are even better! You can sit outside at night and eat and listen to the ocean or just enjoy the weather.
Activities
One of the days we went on a private tour which was around $100.00 a person and they picked us up at the resort. We were gone all day. The price included food so that was good. We went out on a sail boat sailing for the day with about 20 other people. They took us to a private beach where we got to snorkel, the gear was included, look for shells, explore the little island, or just lay out. It was a great beach day and we had the best time.
At the hotel you can rent snorkel, wind surfing, and they will even teach you how to dive with starting in the pool
Airport
It is about 30 mins from the airport to the resort so I recommend booking with hotel for your transportation. Its a little more expensive but you know you will get there.
I stayed at the Intercontinental too. Beautiful resort!
@stephwood I liked Fiji but there really is not a lot to do. It is just sitting at the resort and I did not find much to do outside of it. Now if you want things to do and active Bora Bora is the place to go and I truly think it is way more beautiful then Fiji.
Did you find that there was plenty to do in Fiji? I've always wanted to visit because of its beauty but had some friends who went and found it a bit boring. I like to do stuff in a destination, not just relax and sunbathe. Would there be enough for me?
