Day 1: I arrived early morning so I just settled in my friend's place and met up with our other friends in the city. The rest of the day was just spent resting.
Day 2: Took the ferry to go to Estonia. We spent the day going around Old Town in Tallinn, then shopped for cheap alcohol before heading back to Helsinki in the evening. Alcohol is expensive in Finland and my friends suggested we purchased our alcohol in Tallinn. We stocked up since we were headed to the cottage for a couple of days.
Day 3-5: Stayed at a friend's cottage located by Lake Saimaa. Enjoyed the company of friends, experienced Finnish sauna, had a crayfish party, sang Finnish and Swedish songs, and relaxed in the beautiful nature.
Day 6: Walked around the city centre of Helsinki. Saw the Cathedral, hung out at the Oodi Library and ate some food from the square.
Day 7: Suomenlinna!
Day 8: Spent the day at Linnanmäki. One of my favourite experiences there. We went out to Apollo for a fun night out with friends.
Day 9: Went to Nuuksio for a quick trail. We could've easily spent the whole day and trekked a more difficult trail, but we weren't dressed properly for it!
Day 10: My friends and I watched Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Chill movie night.
Day 11: My favourite experience ever! We went to a reindeer park in Espoo. We paid €30(?) each to enter, and we were given a small block of moss to feed the reindeers. We then headed to this small hut where we baked our own bread and ste some snacks. Such a cozy and unique experience!
Day 12-14: Spend the last few days just hanging out with my friends.
The ferry took 2 hours one way! I thought that one day was enough to see Old Town but if you plan to go see other places, definitely spend more than a day.
cool! how long is the ferry to estonia? worth spending more than a day there?
