Had a great time in tamarindo. It was about an hour from the airport but we had our own car and the roads are crazy so it was a fun drive going anywhere!
We stayed at tamarindo diria, which was directly on the beach and in my opinion the nicest looking hotel in the area. The room was tiny and the toilet didnt work well but the grounds were really nice! We enjoyed the adults only pool where some workers gave us fresh coconuts to drink.
It was directly in the middle of shopping and food. I wish I had taken a surf lesson (stand right outside our building) and done more shopping. We were excited to check out the tamarindo night market on thursday evening but it was closed due to covid. The sunsets here are amazing every night (at 5:30!) Then everyone kind of just has dinner and goes to bed.
We enjoyed having meat kabobs from street vendors, having burgers at The Joint, and gelato! We explored a few other close by beaches and tamarindo was definitely the coolest and most built up
Costa Rica is great place to hike, I loved my time there and would love to go back one day.
So much love for Costa Rica right now, gives me such bad wanderlust! One day I'll visit, would love to see the volcano and hot springs!
