The Shore View Hotel is a brilliant place to stay, go on GroupOn before you go as they sometimes have deals to get £100 for 2 nights including breakfast. The rooms are huge and really comfy and the breakfast is hot and cold buffet. It's a 2 minute walk to the pier as well. Parking can be a complete pain and the hotel can give people parking permits but be prepared to walk a while if you get there in the evening. There is a lot of hotels along the seafront so plenty to choose from if you can't get the Shore View.
The Pier is great, you can easily spend a good few hours on the pier. There are lots of little souvenir shops, the Victorian Tea Rooms, fish and chip restaurant, the 1901 jazz club and you can go fishing off the end of the pier. It can get quite windy so be careful on hot days as it won't feel hot at all.
The Victorian Tea Rooms are amazing, you can go in and have proper freshly made scones with cream and jam and have a big pot of tea. We loved it because it was all delicious and the staff were great to talk to. We just loved the big chandelier and how the tables were set up.
The jazz club at the very end of the pier is brilliant, it's a great place to go and chill out in the day but then they have live music nights. they have big beautiful arm chairs and a few of the little tables are refurbished bass drums.
The beach is pebbles but it is still a lovely beach with a few cafes and little shops along the way so you can chill out on the beach without being too far somewhere to get a drink and some food.
If you go up to the high street, there are loads of shops if you want to do some shopping.
I'd highly recommend going to Soup N Tap as all of their food is freshly and home made. The chef is really into doing everything himself so it all tastes amazing. There is 5 different sizes of drink that you can have, a 1/4 pint, 1/2 pint, pint, 1 litre and 2 pints. If you aren't sure what you would like to drink, they have a taster try of 4 little glasses for £5.
