I have visited Thailand so many times with family and friends. The reason for visiting Thailand is that in my opinion is if any international holiday is value for money, its Thailand. The bang for buck is tremendous and the country itself is just so diverse from beautiful beaches to wild parties, from family friendly activities to not so family friendly activities. In this one , i would write about my family trip to bangkok.
Day 1:- we arrived at the Suvarnabhumi international airport ( for cheap air prices check kayak.com) as it was noon already by the time we landed, we decided to have a simple lunch in the airport itself and headed towards the hotel.we had a shuttle service to the hotel. The hotel we stayed in was called hotel baiyoke sky.
This was an absolutely wonderful hotel with top class views. We had gotten our rooms in The 65th floor with immersive views from our room. For convience theres also a 7/11 in the hotel lobby. In the evening we headed towards a show which was alcazar show, i thoroughly enjoyed it. We headed back to the hotel and had an indian dinner at a place called MADRAS DARBAR the food was ok 2.5/5 . There was no authenticity in the food. We had some jet lag so we had to crash.
Day 2:- this was an exciting day as we had plenty of stuff to see today.we had our breakfast in the hotel which was complimentary in the top most floor of the building with amazing views and the buffet spread was also good. After breakfast we headed towards the city tour starting with the wat traimit withayaram https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-samsung-gs-rev1&sxsrf=ALeKk01RZyb_bDVrx2iQWt9fGUwb2pw4tg%3A1601455552895&ei=wEV0X8GaNpqy9QO-2ZPYDQ&q=samphanthawong+buddha&oq=samphanthawong+bud&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAEYADIFCCEQoAEyBQghEKABMgUIIRCgAToECAAQRzoGCAAQFhAeOggIABAWEAoQHjoHCC4QJxCTAjoECAAQHlDVPVinfWCbiAFoBnABeAGAAZYCiAGGFZIBBjAuMTIuM5gBAKABAcgBCMABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp
A Buddhist monastery. The place was calm and serene and you weren't allowed to talk inside the monastery. Then we headed to wat pho( it was the temple of sleeping buddha) https://www.google.com/search?q=bangkok+sleeping+buddha&oq=Bangkok+sleeping+&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j0l3.5257j0j9&client=ms-android-samsung-gs-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#trex=m_t:lcl_akp,rc_f:nav,rc_ludocids:9076048512320389678,rc_q:Wat%2520Phra%2520Chetuphon%2520(Wat%2520Pho%2520-%2520Temple%2520of%2520the%2520Reclining%2520Buddha),ru_q:Wat%2520Phra%2520Chetuphon%2520(Wat%2520Pho%2520-%2520Temple%2520of%2520the%2520Reclining%2520Buddha),trex_id:di05Cb
It was pretty late for our lunch and decided to eat at the local McDonald's and to my surprise i found it wayyy better than the one back at home , i never thought i would say this but the food was fresh and delicious at the McDonald's. After the late lunch we decided to head back to the hotel take rest for some time and get some drinks later. Unfortunately when we went to some bars most of em were closed due to some public holiday. So we decided to host our own party in the rooms. We had purchased some duty free liquor in the airport before and all the other things like snacks and food was available at the seven/11 in the lobby. So after the drinks we crashed hard.
Day 3:- This.THIS DAY.THIS day is what most us were waiting for. THE SHOPPING DAYYY! Shopping in Bangkok is sooo budget friendly and also so many varities and high quality stuff and good prices. We dedicated this entire day to shopping. There is no need to go anywhere to shop, there were literally tonnnes of shops just opposite our hotel. to put things into perspective we started shopping at 10 am and ended it at 8 pm , we forgot everything about lunch, dinner etc. We bought some loads of clothes, shoes, watches, bags, caps, robes, you name it and also we had to buy a new full size suitcase to fit in all that stuff. OMG this was a shopper's paradise.to top it all of IT ONLY COSTED 1200$ for the entire shopping. The local brands are so high quality. Thats it we finished our night with a shopping high and some dinner so that we dont die.
Ps:- i wouldn't recommend driving in Thailand as it is a right hand drive. Also the weather is soo sultry and hot that you need to constantly hydrate yourself. Pro tip:- coconuts in Bangkok are the best in the world , drinking Coconut water is just mind-blowing. By now im an expert in Thailand tourism.
Day 4:- unfortunately we had to leave , but i know i would visit it again.so back home it was.
