We arrived from London to Amsterdam at around 3 PM and stayed for 3 days. Here was our itinerary.
Day 1:
We arrvied at the Grand Hotel Amrath, quickly checked in and set on foot to explore the city. We walked to Jordaan where we went to cafe Winkel and had a delcious slice of pie. We then strolled to the Van Gogh Museum and enjoyed the many paintings. After we walked in Vondelpark and sipped on hot coffee. As this was our first day, we went to bed early.
Day 2: We started our morning by walking to a local coffee shop where we indulged in a traditional treat of "Poffertjes" which is a sweet mini pancake. After, we went to our guided tour (reccomended) at the Rijksmuseum. This museum is not to be missed as it housed most of the traditional Dutch art work. The museum took a few hours and by the time we only had enough energy to sip on a heinken at a local 'coffe house'.
Day 3: We set out early as to not miss our scheduled visit of the 'Anne Frank House'. The museum was emotionally challenging as the focus was based on a young girls journey through the Holocaust. The museum was well worth it as I learned things I never knew. After, we then visit the cat boat "De Poeznboot" in Jordaan where you could see many cats that are up for adoption as well as interact. Getting late once again, we scheduled our final activity of a boat tour-'Those Dam boat guys'. The tour was awesome and the host was great. If you go to Amsterdam, this is a must!
