What do to in 24 hours in Kona. We arrived by boat early monring into Kona. Seeing the sun come up over the water was the most beauitful site to see while pulling in.
When you get off a ship at the Kona Port there is a nice beach around the corner. It sits inside of a cove so it is protected from the wazes. The water was crystal clear blue and it was attaced to a nice hotel the Courtyward by Marriott King Kamehameha's beach Hotel. You can use their chairs and cabanas as long as you purchase food and drink. So we spent most of our day here laying out, eating, and drinking.
At the hotel they have a stand where you can rent snorkle gear, stand up paddle boards, and rafts. We rented the stand up paddle board for the day it was around $35.00 and it was so much fun. We paddled out saw so many different fish just from above the water. We saw and Eel as well. I would also rent snorkel gear if you can becuase there is so many cool things to see out there.
Later in the afternoon we walked over to the Moku Aikaua Church. You can view it from the street or walk near it. Its very pretty and interesting to see. They have inofrmation outside that tells you about it.
Wew spent the rest of the day/night walking around the town with so many outside bars with live music that we stopped at all of them tried differnt things and listened to the great hawaiian music. All of the bars have great views of the ocean.
We ate at the Papa Kona Restaurant and Bar! Wow! The food was amazing and it was on the waterfront. Dress casual this is not a place where you need to get dressed up. It is outdoor seating with views of the ocean and the food was outstanding.
